The big results and lower league teams still left
There were several giant-killings in the FA Cup third round this past weekend which included the elimination of holders Crystal Palace.
Oliver Glasner’s side were beaten 2-1 by non-league Macclesfield, but that was not the only big upset as League One Mansfield Town beat Championship Sheffield United in a seven-goal thriller after Wrexham knocked out Nottingham Forest on penalties.
Elsewhere, Manchester United, Tottenham, Everton and Bournemouth were beaten by fellow Premier League sides Brighton, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle United, respectively.
Port Vale, Wigan, Burton Albion and Grimsby are the teams outside of England’s top two division in the hat.
