Hello and welcome to Anfield for live updates from Calum McFarlane’s post-match press conference following Chelsea’s 1-1 stalemate with Liverpool this afternoon.
The Blues fought hard to come out with a point on Merseyside after going behind early on. Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring with a beautiful strike into the top corner from outside of the box inside six minutes but Chelsea found a leveller later in the first half.
Enzo Fernandez’s dangerous free-kick delivery looked as if it had evaded everyone but replays appeared to show Wesley Fofana got the slightest of touches to put the ball into the bottom corner – only for the Premier League to give it to Fernandez.. The visitors then had one disallowed after Cole Palmer found the back of the net, with Marc Cucurella marginally offside in the build-up after a VAR check.
